Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez, born Rosa Maria Perez June 6 1964 is an American actress and choreographer. Her breakout role as Tina in Do the Right Thing (1989) was followed by White Men Can't jump (1992). Perez's performance as Tina , in Fearless (1993) was rewarded with her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Perez's starring roles in movies include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007), and Birds of Prey (2018). She also received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990-1994) as well as another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her performance as the Flight Attendant. She has also appeared in stage productions on Broadway like The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. In the 18th season, she also co-hosted on ABC's talk show The View. She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood, Queens. The year 1999 was the year her mother was living in poverty in Woodside Houses when she died from complications arising from AIDS.
