Amanda Blake

Amanda Blake (born Beverly Louise Neill) was a popular American actor. Her most well-known role was the one of Miss Kitty Russell on the TV show 'Gunsmoke.' Additionally, she has appeared in television series such as "The Red Skelton Show", "Tattletales" and "The Edge of Night". Additionally, she appeared in dozens of other films including Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho,?Cattle Town,?Miss Robin Crusoe,?"About Mrs. Leslie",?The Adventures of Hajjibaba The Boost??. Formerly a telephone operator, Blake was an avid animal fan. Together along with Frank Gilbert, she was the first person who successfully raised cheetahs captive. American actress, Sheila E. Gilbert was a co-founder of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was a past committee member for the Humane Society of the United States. In a discussion about the honors Blake was awarded She was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
